Board of Directors

Founder, President & CEO

Brad Kempo -- Bachelor of Arts Degree in political science and philosophy from the University of Victoria (1985).  He attended University College Cardiff in Wales, United Kingdom, and was granted authorization to complete three years of law studies in a compressed two-year format.  Commonwealth Bachelor of Laws Degree (1987) and returned to his hometown of Edmonton, Alberta in early summer 1987 to launch Intelligent Images Research Inc., an entrepreneurial venture in the budding computer generated imagery (CGI) industry.  When it failed to obtain implementation financing he enrolled in the Law Society of Alberta’s one-year apprenticeship program; and on September 21, 1990 was called to the Alberta Bar.  He immediately commenced a sole proprietorship law practice.

In 1994 he moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, and shortly thereafter began developing ‘Canada Law Topics’, which sought to deliver a new, inexpensive and time-saving legal research service to lawyers and the public via the Internet. After six consecutive years and some 16,000 hours acquiring data - case law, statutes and legal literature - it failed because marketing began in 2001 just after the Internet bubble popped.

His full time research into Canadian governance began in March of 2004.  While most of 2005 was committed to a personal matter, he resumed his academic investigation in early 2006 on a part time basis and concluded it in the summer of 2010.

In March 2012 he launched the Canadian Citizens Party, a political organization that’s not on the ideological spectrum.  Instead of promoting a platform of policy positions, when registered federally, provincially and territorially it’ll restructure the country’s parliamentary system by introducing through legislation an Internet based referendum voting system on policy so as to deliver direct democracy and correct systemic dysfunctionalities.

Became politically active in the 1980s, aligning with the right-of-center Alberta Progressive Conservatives.  They fought a long battle with the federal government over control of Alberta's natural resources (particularly the oil sands).

Disillusioned with the Party because it was out of touch with what citizens wanted, he joined the Alberta Liberals in the 1990, the province’s official opposition beginning in 1993.

Moved to the conservative ‘Wildrose Alliance Party of Alberta' and ran for provincial office in 2000.  Its platform included reducing by constitutional means the enormous net outflow of wealth from Alberta to the federal government and ensuring provincial decisions better reflect mainstream values and priorities and party leaders and legislature members honour their election promises and commitment."  It guaranteed a commitment to openness, transparency, democracy and innovation in the way the party conducts its business.

He terminated membership over party affiliation with a suspect oil company and became Vice-President of the ‘Alberta Party’ (2008) and President (2009).  Its members believe in a legislative process that is open, fair, transparent and inclusive, private enterprise and entrepreneurship, fiscal and social responsibility, making strategic investments in research and technology, and implementing smart policy choices.

He’s been in leadership roles on multiple projects for community organizations: President ‘Métis Local 1888’ from 1992 - 1999; President of non-profit organization helping youth through arts & sports focused programs and established new programs and managed various aspects of the charity (1992 - 2010).  Coached Olympic Free Style Wrestling in Edmonton Jr. and Sr. High Schools for 22 years.

He was a candidate seeking a seat in Parliament in 2006 and 2008 elections for the First Peoples National Party of Canada.  He’s been its Leader since 2011.  The Party’s main message is that Canada’s political and corporate leaders trans-generationally abdicated their responsibilities to the country’s original inhabitants and fundamental change is required to ensure they achieve social justice, be full participants in government and the economy and beneficiaries of what the country offers.
